There are those of us who remain a bit skeptical of Twitter's mainstream appeal, partly because of incerasingly loud whispers that nobody under 25 seems to use it (a key metric for an allegedly hot online service) and partly because of a feeling that it has a particularly rabid following among journalists, who are enamored of it and writing stories about it all out of proportion to its following among the general populace.
On the latter point, I present this screen shot of what's hot on Twitter right now, a few minutes after the announcement of the Pulitzers—a story that has a very narrow audience:

Speaking of the Pulitzers, a shout-out to the fantastic PolitiFact, which just won the National Reporting award. Kudos to Bill Adair and crew.
